Born in Messina, he started his musical studies
in his native town at the "Arcangelo Corelli" Conservatory
under the direction of Antonio Bavacqua. After being rewarded with the
1st Prize in the international contest "Giuseppe Di Stefano" in
Trapani, he made his debut in 1996 in the role of Don Giovanni at the
Teatro Politeama in Lecce and in the role of Nemerino in l'Elisir d'Amore
in Pistoia, receiving unanimous applause from critics and the public.
He then started on a international career which led him to the most prestigious
opera scenes in the world, among which: Teatro alla Scala, Metropolitan,
Wiener Staatsoper, Staatsoper et Deutsche Oper de Berlino, La Monnaie
de Bruxelles, Teatro Real de Madrid, New National Theatre of Tokyo, Bayerische
Staatsoper in Munich, Teatro de l’Opera de Roma, Accademia Nazionale
de Santa Cecilia et Rossini Opera Festival de Pesaro, with a repertoire
counting such famous works as : Don Giovanni, Falstaff, L’italiana
in Algeri, Gianni Schicchi, La Sonnambula, I Puritani, Il barbiere di
Siviglia, Semiramide, La Cenerentola, Œdipus Rex, L’elisir
d’Amore, Don Pasquale, Elisabetta, Regina d’Inghilterra,
L’equivoco Stravagante, La Gazzetta, Otello et Il Viaggio a Reims.
In the mark of his career he has worked with the most important conductors,
such as : Valeri Gergeev, Riccardo Muti, Daniel Oren, Daniele Gatti,
Maurizio Benini, Alberto Zedda, Renato Palumbo, Roberto Abbado, Bruno
Campanella, Donato Renzetti, Yves Abel and others.
He made his recent debut at the Opéra National de Paris in the
Barbiere di Siviglia. He also made his debut in the role of Argirio in
Tancredi at the Teatro Regio de Torino. He was also subsequently acclaimed
for his interpretations of La Cenerentola at the Deutsche Oper de Berlino
and at the Théâtre des Champs Elysées in Paris,
Roméo et Juliette and L’elisir d'amore at the Teatro
Verdi di Trieste, Il Barbiere di Siviglia at the Teatro Regio di Torino,
in Valladolid and Barcelona.
Among his next commitments are : Sigismondo and Stabat Mater di
Rossini at the Rossini Opera Festival de Pesaro, La Cenerentola at Mosca,
